Steamboat Arabia Museum

Steamboat Arabia Museum: Adrift in Time

Located on the east side of the City Market Square is the largest collection of pre-Civil War artifacts in the world — the Arabia Steamboat Museum.

Visit the Arabia Steamboat Museum, and hear the legendary tale of the loss and discovery of the Great Arabia … and its 200 tons of cargo. This amazing story has been featured on Good Morning America, Cable News Network (CNN), National Geographic Traveler, The Smithsonian and Antiques Road Show among others.

Next, take a tour of the Arabia's amazing collection … and head to the Paddlewheel Theatre to see a short film on the life and rediscovery of the Steamboat Arabia. Find out how the many tons of artifacts are cleaned and prepared for display in the always-open preservation lab. Check out Arabia's engines and boilers, on display on the 171-foot long replica deck of the Arabia.

Reservations not required; tours begin at the top and bottom of each hour. For more information, call 816.471.1856 or go to
